Career education: Career Week, linking learning to real life opportunities
The Hillman Primary School career education program incorporates the Australian Curriculum learning areas of English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technologies, and Health and Physical Education alongside opportunities to develop the Personal and Social, and Critical and Creative Thinking general capabilities.
Pre-primary learning programs focus on English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences and Technologies learning areas as students participate in play-based activities on ‘Careers Street’. Middle and upper primary learning programs are designed to develop the Personal and Social capability and Critical and Creative Thinking and encourage students to set personal learning goals. Students explore concepts relating to community and community participation, personal identity and communication in English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Design and Technologies, and Health and Physical Education.
